QSL QSL QSL!!!

Wow! Two letters with QSL! Love it.
It was 7Z7AA IOTA AS-191 worked on a few bands. Also 3XY1D worked on several bands.

Nice isn't it!!??
So, I hope next year will bring the rest of the missing QSL's.

HNY to every one out there and I will be back next year!!??

Challange Award

As I told you all before I have managed to achive the first step of Challange award. My score when applied was 1013 DX. I wonder how long it will take to bring me to the next level. 500 more DX to achive the 1500 medal. And I don't think I  will ever get to 3000!!?? I'm to old, I think!!

Weather here in this part of Sweden is hot! At the moment I have 12 C. And it feels like spring outside. Still no snow in sight. Picture above is from February 2011. This day it was around -20 C and about 35 cm of snow.

I have been of radio as I have been celebrating X-Mas with my daughter in the southern part of Sweden.

Hope  the mailman will bring some QSL this week.

Take care.

Received a card from Reijo XV2RZ. Worked on 20, 17, 12 and 10 m bands. So this adds up my score on 17 and 12 m for endorsement of 5BDXCC.
Nice card. Show how life is supossed to be lived!!??

I have also got confirmation from LoTW of my Challange Award. It is approved!!
So now it is just to wait for the plaque to arrive via mail.

Happy X-MAS and a Happy New Year to you all out there.

No 1 Again in Sweden!

No further comments needed, or...............? Well the conds during 2010 CQWW CW on 15 m was not the best. But I got the Certificate!

Go and work some new ones!

Take care all of U

I sent the request 5th of December 2011. Today, 14 of December 2011 I received his card.
It was FM/F6ARC that I worked on the 5th DEC 2011 at 0710 Z on 80 m CW.
9 days to receive a QSL. This is how it should be, or............?

So, to all other ham's out there that I miss QSL from, take action and learn!!

Old Key's

I found on a Swedish internet site for Ham radio equipment the following old Key's.

The rear one with the gray cover is the same type of key I used when I was in the Army as a CW operator. Swedish made and a very smoth key to operate.

The one with the Black Base is also a Swedish Military Key. But I have never seen any of these before. The steel plate mounting and the knob is aftermarket made. It is very nice to operate and it have a very good feeling when used. The key has a type plate that read as follows:

M3930-203020-21 (this is a military numbering in Sweden where M3930- stands for telegraph keys).
But it also have a MFR Number. F1107-109381-X. I have attempted to track thees numbers without any sucsess. So if there is someone out there that have some information about this key please let me knew.

That's all for now!

Take care!

More QSL!!!

Yesterday I received two ( 2 ) new QSL in my mail box. New reccord this month. And this pushed my IOTA score up two points. FG8AR, NA-102 and ZD8ZZ, AF-003. Tom (ZD8ZZ) was worked on 4 bands.

This morning I also worked GJ6UW on 160 m. I was running only 150 W. So this pushed my 160 m DXCC score up one point as well. But I have a lot to do on 160 m. I have an interesting problem on 160. My ADSL modem just shuts off when I tuch the key with 150 W of power. One of the reason is the proximity of telephone line to my vertical antenna. And the fact that ADSL is close in frequency to 160 m. I'm actually blocking the ADSL signal. That's life!?

Take care all of you and remember that life is to short for QRP in any way!!

QSL Received !!!!

Finally! A QSL was found in my mailbox today. Almost X-Mas. It was 4W6A, Timor-Leste, Atauro Isl OC-232. I had them worked on 5 bands. Nice 4 pages QSL.

The mailman (still a  woman) has not completely forgot me yet?!

My adventures on 80 m after changing the feeding net is as follows: DS4DBF, PJ5/DL7VOG, YN2CC, CN8KD, a few JA, And this morning RI1FJL on Frans Josef Land. Look's to me that it is working OK.

No winter as of today. Teperature is around 3 C. No snow in sight so far.

Take care!

On the wall!

Finally I have found a spot where I hanged the 5BDXCC award. Nice, is'n it?! Anyway, the empty spot on the Right Hand Side are reserved for the next one. Challange plaque. Hope I will get that one before X-Mas. I will keep you updated!

In the CQWW CW contest I managed to work 119 DX and  35 Zones on 10 m band. But unfortunally no new ones. Around 1630 Z on both Saturday and Sunday the band almost closed for me up on 60 deg North. I still heard a lot of DX with signals up to S7-9. But I could not get through to them. I was running 1 KW. Reason??!! Bad Antenna? Bad Equipment? Usless operator (meaning me)? Anyway, I had a lot of fun!

I have changed the feeding net's to my 160/80 GP. First QSO was with DS4DBF last night in a light pile from EU. Just one call and he was in the log. The main change was for 160 m.

Thas all for now. Now I will go and try to work some new ones on 12 m.

Take care.

5BDXCC

Well! Today the mailman (actually a woman) arrived with a parcel. It was my 5BDXCC with 30 m endorsment.

Now I have to find a spot on the wall where I can put it up. Hopfully the 160 m, 17 m, 12 m and 6 m endorsment soon will be glued on the placque. But that is up to me to work some new stations. 17 and 12 m is not that far away. But 160 is a different story.

This weekend I will spend with the rest of the world of Ham Radio in CQWW CW.

Take care all of you out there!

Paper version of 5BDXCC!

Yetsrday the Awards arrived including the paper version of 5BDXCC.
Look's OK!!

I also passed 1000 points in Challange. So next year I have to apply for that award!

Take care!

Missing QSL List, and Installed a Glitch Resistor.

Well it's time to list the few QSL I'm missing. All of the following is between 1 year and  6 month since sent from me.

W7W (WC7O) sent 9-AUG-2010!! I give up!!!!!!
9H1XT sent 23-Oct 2010 wkd on 160 m.
OY6FRA sent 28-Apr-2011 wkd on 6 m.

Then there are a long list ( 18 Q's) from July 2011. But I will give them a few more month's.

During my waiting time I just keep myself warm by keeping the fire going. I still have about 5 cubic meters of wood. That should last up to March next year.

Just installed a Glitch Resistor of 10 ohm in serie with a 1A Fuse in the HV Supply of my TL-922. The resistor/fuse is for protection if a flash over occur in one of the 3-500ZG tubes and hopefully protect the Bias Zener Diod and Power Supply.

Thats all for now.

QRP? Why?

Take care!

TU2T QRT

Thanks for a well performed DXpedition. I managed to work them on all bands. From 80 to 10 m band's all CW and once on SSB ( 12 m ). 9 QSO's total. And the aditional radials on my 80 m GP worked just fine. I did catch them on 80 m on the last day of the operation. QSL ordered and a small donation has been issued via Pay-Pal.

Now I have worked T2T on a few bands so far. But they will stay on Tuvalu up to December. So no panic from my side.

3XY1D QSL is also on order.

ZD8ZZ will be QRV until 20 of November. So I will try to work him on some more bands.

Winter is slow in this part of Sweden this year. Temperature is just now around +3 deg C. And no snow yet! But it will come for sure.

Remember that life is still to short for QRP.

Take care!

Approved!

YES!

Acording to LoTW my 5 Bands DXCC (including endorsement for 30 m) is approved.
Now it is a long waiting time for the Award.
Hopefully SM5DJZ will update the Swedish DXCC listing so I can see my "big" improvement!!??

Otherwise I had worked 7Q7GM on 12 and 28 m band but I was not in the On Line Log so I worked them again on 12 m. Better luck this time.

I have added a lot of radials for my 80 m GP for improvement to the south. Vill try to test the antenna this night.

There are still a lot of missing direct QSL. The list is getting longer. Wonder how long it is normal to wait? Soon there will be an e-mail to some QSL managers asking for the reason for this long delay.

Tomorrow I have to visit the local vampyre center for blod test. And next week it is time for a check up of the pump system.

Well that's all for today.

Take care!

CQWW SSB

Fantastic conditions! 10 m was a real thrill to work. I operated SOSB 10 HIGH POWER. But next contest I will connect the cluster into N1MM and operate in ASSISTED. Found out that I missed a lot due to the fact that I started at 28200 and slowly turned the VFO up to 28800 when a lot of FM stations appared on the band. Then back to 28200 and search the band again for new stations.
Did this for 7 hrs on Saturday and 6 hrs on Sunday. Managed to get 371 Q's and 31 Z and 90 DX.
But when compare to a station running ASSISTED I was totaly lost!

WHAT HAPPENED????

Well after the contest I have worked TX7M on 15 m and TU2T on 20 m band.

TX7M was alone on 15 m calling CQ and no takers. I gave him just one call and he was in the log.
He was strong. About S7 in the peaks.

Take care!

Thursday, 27 October 2011

Low activity!

Well, the activity at the  moment is a little bit on the low side. Reason I don't knew. But I have sent my application for 5 Bands DXCC with endorsement for 30 m to ARRL. So, at the moment it is just waiting. I have worked 3XY1D and TX7M on several bands on both SSB and CW.
This weekend it is CQWW SSB and I will participate and operate only 10 m. Need some scores on that band. I will operate S&P mostly with the call 7S5C. As a more or less QRP (?) stn it is best to stay on S&P??!!

I have to work more on 17 and 12 m bands. Also need to put some time on 160 so I can get endorsement for my 5BDXCC.
Next prodject is a 5 Band WAZ.

Otherwise I feel like Balder. Sleepy!

Take care!!

ST0R!

Yes! The QSL for my ST0R QSO's arrived yesterday. Nice QSL and well performed operation.
Thank's to EA5RM, Antonio for supplying the QSL.

I managed to catch them on 8 band slots. So I received two QSL's.

Today is a big day!!??
Wy?
Well today I will send an application to ARRL for my 5 Bands DXCC with endorsement for 30 m ( isn't that a 6 Bands DXCC then??)! Anyway there are unfortunally QSL cards that need to be checked for 28 MHz. All other bands are via LoTW. My plan was to get all via LoTW but I still missing 9 on 28 MHz in LoTW so I have to add QSL's. That will slow the process down a bit but what the h..k! I have been waiting to achive this Award for several years so one or two more weeks don't matter to me.

Take care all of you and remember this would have been a real challange if using QRP!?

Tuesday, 18 October 2011

T32C

Well!
Now I have worked T32C on all bands where I have heard them. 160 might be a challange. Have not heard a sound from them on "Top-Band". Might need better receiving antennas, or...............?

SM5CBM has worked T32C on 9 out of 29 band slots

Propagation suggestions for T32C from SWEDEN or from CQ zone 14

Leaderboard stations in CQ zone 14 or SWEDEN or in EU

6m
10m
12m
15m
17m
20m
30m
40m
80m
160m
CW
JT65
PH
RTTY
FM

But the "On Line Log" speaks for it self!! I had to shake out all spiders and insects from the microphone so I could use it for adding phone to my DXCC record for T32. So, what next?? I don't work RTTY yet but I might have to start that mode as well.

When I had the microphone out and connected I also worked TX3T on 21 MHz.
I will try to work them as TX7M and TX5A from Marquesas Isl when they move for participating in CQWW SSB part. So I guess I have to leave the microphone connected for a while.

Take care all of you readers out there

Control Panel for my new switch

I have been able to lay my hands on a Six-Pak Control Panel. I can use this panel just as it is.
I have made a small reminder so I knew when "Radio A" is in position 80 I have my 40 m GP and for "Radio B" I have Tranceiver TS-950SDX Selected. Works just fine. In the near future I will change the labeling on the Six-Pak.

Look's OK on top of my LP-100A!!

Roumers say that QSL for the ST0R operation is in the loop. But I have not received anything yet.
I vill arrange an observation post checking out my mail box!!

Take care.

SAC SSB Contest

Finally was the 2011 SAC SSB Contest over. Had a good run on 28 MHz during the first part of the contest. But then it got bad. The conditions was playing with us. I was calling and calling CQ and I did not got a pile up as I had on 28 MHz. I was using my 7S5C call. And a lot of hams have some problem with the 7 in beginning. Anyway I was able to get 441 Q's. My goal was 100 Q's per band. I managed that on 10, 15, and 20. But not on 80 and 40.

I was one of the lucky hams to catch 3D2R on 80 m!!! On one of the last day of the DXpidition I snatch them just after a few calls on CW. And it is confirmed in the ON-Line LOG. That I call a DX!!!!!!!

Now I will try to spend some time to catch T32C on some more bands. I have worked T32C on 30, 20 and 17 m all on CW.

Untill next time, take care.

Wednesday, 5 October 2011

3D2R QRT and T32C continue.

3D2R Rotuma is QRT. I managed to work them on 4 bands. 15, 17 and 80 m CW and 20 m SSB.
The QRM:ers have had almost X-Mas! And now they can comcentrate on T32C. This will be a challange for them as the crew of T32C will stay until 26 of October. Wonder if they all will last to the end. I mean the QRM.ers!!??

I have worked T32C on two bands so far. But as they will stay untill 26/10 there is no rush.

What else!

Well I have not managed to build a control panel for my antenna switch yet.
At the moment I'm adding radials to my 160/80 m GP. Quite time consuming.

No QSL has arived and I'm very frustrated every time I look into my mail box.

Well more radials has to be added before nightfall.

Take care all of  you.

New Zooooooo!!!

Well, We just finished of 4W6A when a new victim appeared on the bands. 3D2R!!!
And have the UP UP:ers loaded their batteries? You Bet!!! When will this nonsens stop?
There was a well written article in October issue of CQ Magazine. It is written by W4NL and labeled "A DXer's Challenge: Stay on the Air and Behave!"
In my opinion every DXer should read this article and pay special attention to the part "Getting the DX in your Log with the Proper Ethics".

Back to 3D2R. Big pile and up to 15 KHz UP. I have not managed to get in the Log of 3D2R yet, but I will be there for sure. I'm at the moment monitoring 3503. But only QRM:ers so far.

Take care all of you out there.

Tuesday, 27 September 2011

NA-083 confirmed!

Worked W4T before and in the IOTA Contest. Received QSL yesterday so now I have added one more point to my IOTA score. I'm now up to 178 total (!). Long way to go.

I also received a bunch of QSL from Buro. 3D2A, 4K9W, 6W1RW, 8R1PY, CN8KD, FO5RH, JD1BLY, JW7QIA, JW8DW, PJ5/SP6EQZ, XU7UFT, YJ0HA and XX9TLX. So there are still QSL arriving via Buro!!!!???

Take care all of you.

4W6A QRT!

4W6A went QRT around 02:00 Z on the 25 Sep. So now, all of the QRM.ers is out serching for new victims. They are all reloading their batteries and serching on all of the DX forums trying to find someone new to create QRM for.
I managed in the last days to work 4W6A on 20 and 30 m. Making a total of 5 QSO's all on CW.

During this DXpedition I have built an antenna switch 2 X 6. I will be able to select between one antenna and one of my tranceivers. When the power is off all connect to GND. I purchased the circuit board's and relay's from SJ2W, Mikael, and put both in a sealed box with a wall between the switches for maximum isolation. Se picture. Now I will build a control box so I can start to use the switch..

Yesterday eavning I was lsn on 80 CW when I heard a pile with lots of stations from EU calling someone. Lsn down I found T8XX working the pile. Staretd my TL-922 and called once ( 1 ). And I got a QSO with T8XX, Palau. QSL via Hans DL5AXX. Unfortunally no stores was open at this hour of the night so I could not throw myself into my 4WD SUV and drive out to by a lottery ticket!!

Take care out there until next time.

Friday, 23 September 2011

4W6A Zooo!

I have managed to work 4W6A on 10, 12 and 15 m band without any effort and hrs spent at the radio. I have also lsn on 3,5, 7, and 14 Mhz at the normally zoo making QSO almost impossible.
It seams to me that it starts with someone tuning on DX QRG or putting out some meaningless CW that trigger all the UP UP:ers, 99:ers, LID:ers, FUK:ers, PIG:ers, IDIOT:ers, QSY:ers, GM:ers and so on. So until the fog has settled, there is hard to hear the DX. That might be the purpose of the QRM:ers, or..............................?!
I think this behavour will never change. It does not matter how many DX Conduct manifest that will be written. These QRM:ers do not have enough braincells to read and understand these documents, or.............?

Now I will leave this subject for this time.

Still no QSL from the long list I have. Still in top is W7W followed by 9H1XT worked on 1,8, A71A (via A71AN), and XE3RT. All of these was requested by SAE and 2$$$ and all are more than a year old!! But I hope I will get a nice suprice one day when I walk out to my mail box and make a suprising discovery and find some QSL! I will let you all knew as soon this happened.

I was on the finale training at the hospitale last eavning after my heartattac. Now it is up to me alone to keep the wight and the sytem and return (systolic and diastolic) prssure within limits. And also to keep on exercise as I have been doing every day so far. I will take a walk today for at least 6 km.

Take care and remember that life is always to short for QRP??!!

Tuesday, 13 September 2011

QSL Received!!!!

Got confirmation from K6VVA/KL7 from IOTA NA-242. Point Lay Barrier Isl.
Operator was K9AJ wiith fine sigs into SM.
So this pushed my IOTA up 1 point (!) and as this isl was a first-time activation I got warnig from IOTA home page when I register the QSO.

This weekend it is SAC Contest where all the world shall work us up in Scandinavia and Finland and hopefully I will participate with the call SM5C.

Take care all of you out there

Thursday, 8 September 2011

Thinking of creating a "Black List"!!

I'm thinking of creating a "Black List" of stations that I have sent QSL, SAE and normally 2 $$$ and no replay within 6 Months??!!
Top of the list is W7W, Mt St Helen Memorial. QSL sent 17 May 2010! And also 2 e-mail to manager but no replay from e-mail or letter!!

There are more stations but they are not out from the 6 mounth window yet. CN8KD, OY6FRA are close. Very close!!!!!!!

I have to show you all the Keyer for my C-Line. The old MFJ-484 that is back and on top of C-Line Speaker.

Works just fine.

Take care!! CUL!

Saturday, 3 September 2011

First QSO's with the old Drake C-Line

I got my old MFJ Keyer, Grandmaster MFJ-484 back yesterday. So now I can key my Drake C-Line. For all new hams out there the old Drake C-Line use grid block keying and the voltage is negative and require a special circuit or a relay to work. MFJ-484 was manufactured in those days when grid-block keying was more or less standard.

So how did I do during an hour of lsn? Well, I managed to work 4K6FO, RA9UO, CT9/RW9JZ, 5N6/YL2SW and finally FG8AR. I was running about 150 W out and the band was 20 m. Some of the worked stations had a pretty good pile. So the old rig is still up and running.
I can also tell you all out there, that the reason for this old buty to be capable of near 200 W out, according to my LP-100A Power Meter, is that the Power transformer has been replaced. The black baked 60 Hz US type has been replaced with a large toroid type made for 50 Hz mains. So you have to make the tuning process very short to spare the final tubes.

QRP???!!! No way!!!!

Tuesday, 30 August 2011

Activation of Drake C-Line

I have put my old C-Line back on line. Cleaned some wafers and checked some adjustments. Found all to be within limits. R-4C has all of Sherwood Engineering modifications and the performance is super. The 600 Hz roofing filter in 1:st MF performes just fine. Wonder if there are some RX out there that can match the modified R-4C??!!

Look's OK with the MN-2000. I still have the original tubes (6JB6) in the T-4XC final and I have an output of about 150 W on all bands.

Worked TX8DD on 14 MHz last morning on LP.

No QSL this week so far???!!! Wonder if there are something wrong with my mailbox. Bills and other useless stuff ends up in the box. But no QSL!?

Keep your hart safe and and look at the WC from HL.

Monday, 22 August 2011

Low activity!

Well, hope this week will bring some new QSL cards to my collection. Have managed to work ZL4RUGBY (celebrating 2011 Rugby World Cup playing in NZ) on 30 and 20 m CW LP. This morning he was 579 and really booming into EU on 20 m.
Last night I added 3 new islands to my IOTA score. SM7DAY/P EU-138, D9A AS-026 and LR5D SA-055. Hope they will  replay on my QSL.
Othervise I feel like my daughter's dog!!

Sleeeeeeepy!!!!

Take care

Spider!

I have this friend guarding my house. It is a Garden Spider (Araneus diadematus). It is around 20 mm and very good locking, or.......................?

Anyway she (it is a she according to size, male is much smaller) catches some fly's and other insects so she can sit there and keep on doing what ever she is doing.

Nothing in my mailbox this week. So I still need some QSL for 28 MHz.

Take care out there and don't get bit by the spider!!??

Monday, 8 August 2011

Hats off for G3TXF!!!

Today I received QSL for the ZD7XF operation. I managed to work Nigel on 5 bands and I ordered QSL direct including $2. To my suprice Nigel added 2 other QSL. GR3TXF for memory of the Royal Wedding and VP2MXF. Thanks again Nigel!! You are one of my fans.

I have also managed to work ST0R on 28 MHz. One Call was all I needed!!!??? By a lottery ticket???
But now when the operation has been approved by ARRL it is a different game on 40m. And the QRM:ers are just so happy. They are really full of joy!! You can't imagine all the funny words you can hear on CW on 40m frequency 7004 KHz. But it is little difficult to hear ST0R when the QRM:ers are in full play!! But no problem as I have ST0R on 8 slots anyway. And there will be a CQWW contest in the near future. And I'm certain that there will be some activity from Suthern Sudan.
So keep your blood pressure within limits when you try to work ST0R and remember it is just a hobby and nothing is so important that the world rotates around it if you work ST0R or not!

Take care.

The Zoo around ST0R

Well, I have managed to put myself in 6 slot's on the ST0R online log. 4 CW and 2 SSB. I have lsn every last nights for 40 m but the Zoo is so absurd so I just QSY.

Yesterday I was on a trip with the local narrow track railway (891 mm) drawn by an old steam engine.

A trip of 32,6 km and max speed of 50 km/h. Long stop half way for filling water. Very nice wether and and a day well spend and very away from any radio and the ST0R Zoo.

Take care of your heart and don't get to involved in the Zoo of ST0R

6W2SC confirmed on 28 MHz

Thanks!!!

One that heard my request of getting more QSL for 28 MHz operation!? Received today the card from Peter, 6W2SC worked on 40 and 10 m band in April this year. Thanks Peter!

So hopefully I will get more from my 28 MHz operation.

It is hot in Sweden today. Around 30 deg C. And the coming night might count as a tropical night if the average temp will stay above 20 deg C.
Well, don't complain! Soon we will have the white stuff back and temps below 0!!??

Take care!

South Sudan ST0R, and K6VVA/KL7 from NA-242

I have managed to work ST0R on 14 and 10 MHz. The pile and all QRM creators are just amazing. Wonder who the guys behind the QRM-maker looks like. And also the reason for this behaviour. They have signal strength to be able to join the pile and work the DX. Or have they worked the new country and is trying to stop the rest of us to work the DX??!!

I have worked K6VVA/KL7 from NA-242. Big pile and no QRM:ers!! They are buisy with ST0R!!! Wonder if the QRM:ers have limited simultanius capacity and can only QRM one at the time!!??  Any way, NA-242 has never been activated before so this is a rare one. Signals are fine from North Alaska on 10 MHz. QSL is in the mail to USA.

I'm still missing a few QSL on LoTW for my 5BDXCC on 28 MHz. All other bands are well over 100 confirmed in LoTW. So to all of you out there that I have worked on 28 MHz PSE confirm via LoTW so I can apply for my 5BDXCC.

Take care of your heart and don't spend all of your time at the radio.

KA2MGI QSL arrived direct today

Heard KA2MGI calling CQ on 20 m band and no takers. Chris was calling CQ DX but no answer.
So I had a moment to figure out if I might count as a DX on 20 m. And after a while I decided that I must count as a small DX so I answered him and we had a long QSO.

And today I received this nice QSL direct in my mail box. A QSL card from me is in the mail direct to chris. Thanks and CUAGN!

CUL out there.

T31A

Today the T31A QSL arrived in my mail box. So finally I have all Kiribati confirmed. I also got the QSO confirmed i LoTW. So thanks to you all for a short but fine operation.

So this pushed my IOTA up one more point!!??

Take care.

Cameroon TJ9PF

Well, there have been low activity on this blogg for a while. But I'm back!
Received the QSL for the TJ9FP operation by a group of French hams. QSL was verifyed by F5OGL.
I managed to work them on 5 bands on both CW and SSB (?). Wonder where that microphone came from!

During the passed week there have been a wonderful operation by G3TXF from Napleon's Island St. Helena as ZD7XF. Managed to catch him on several bands.
Some of my friends at Uppsala Radioclub (SK5DB) is QRV as OJ0/Home Call. They have been working all bands (almost) and all modes.

So there has  been a fun week between all the CB's and TS that have been passing by and causing some QRM.

Take care and remember to treat your hart with tender love!!

Very fast delivery of QSL

Hello  to you all out there.
I worked V44KAI 23 of May (18 MHz) and 9 of June (14 MHz).
Yesterday the QSL arrived! New record for me. Hats off for QSL Mgr W5FTW!!!
I also received ST2AR for confirmation on 50 MHz. Both these contacts where also confirmed on LoTW almost the same day.

Midsummer celebration is coming up on Friday but the real Midsommer was on 21 of June. And now it is down hill again towards shorter days and long nights and hopefully lots of DX on low bands!!??

VP8ORK South Orkney

WOW!
Today the QSL from VP8ORK operation dropped down in my mailbox. Almost X-Mas!!
Yesterday I received 4A4A and today VP8ORK. What next??
Managed to work them on 7, 10, 14, 18 MHz and once again on 10 MHz as I was entered into Club-Log as SM6CBM. So I worked them once more on 30 m. But on the QSL they have corrected this misstake. Well done!!

This is very nice indeed!!

Take care.

QSL from 4A4A

Today the QSL from 4A4A arrived. 8 pages of QSL! Very nice indeed! This will push my IOTA up one point as well as my DXCC up a few points!!?? NA-030, not bad at all. TNX EB7DX for delivery of QSL. 4A4A was week but not to difficult to work up here at 60 deg North. I managed to catch them on 7, 10, 14, 18 and 21 MHz all CW contacts.

Isn't it nice? I think so. This is the final reward when you spend hours at the radio trying to catch these rare ones.

Take care all of you out there and remember to keep your Main and Return pressure (I mean Systolic and Diastolic pressures) low at all times.

New toy!!

I have purchased a K42 keyer from K1EL to be used together with my TS-570S that I use only on 50 MHz. The built-in keyer in TS-570S do not sound very well. But now I have a brilliant CW with correct spacing. Looks OK on top of my TS-570S, or............................?

Nice kit and quite easy to assembly. But I don't reccomend this kit to a non-experienced guy in how to use a soldering gun. I spend around 3 hr including some coffee breakes.

Have a nice day and remember to take care of your heart

We have a Problem!!??

To day QSL for the IOTA DXpdition from P29 arrived. But just the UK part. P29NI from OC-257. Nice card and a very well performed operation from G3KHZ, SM6CVX, CT1AGF G3JKX and G3UKV. So now it is up to Hans (SM6CVX) to send his cards (he he).

Well there are some differences. Derek, G3KHZ only has to administrate around 8500 QSO while SM6CVX has around 21 000 QSO's, So we understand the delay from Hans. Keep up the good work Hans. We will wait!

Well, this QSL pusched my IOTA up to 166 (??). Think I have talked about this before. I have a lot to do here. So out chasing IOTA!

Take care.

9N7AN

Recaived a very nice QSL card from the German Nepal DXpedition 2011. Worked them on 40, 17, 15 and 10 m bands only. But this was under my recovery after the big March event!!

The picture on the card show Mt. Everest & Nuptse. As usual the operation was super from DL4SVA, DK5WL, DL9GFB and DK7AN. Thanks!

Eat a lot of fruit and skip all sweets.

What a beauty!!!

I have managed to lay my hands on this beauty! It is heavy and will not run away when in use!
It is nice to look at! It is smoth to operate!
What more kan you say!!
Thanks W9KNI for a very high quality product!

CE9/VE3LYC and CE9/PA3EXX IOTA Expedition

I managed to work Cezar from both SA-031 and SA-097. Both islands where new for me and thanks Cezar and Johan for the thrill when I was chasing you from these islands. And thanks for the very butiful QSL cards as you all can see the front of in this blogg. The signals from Cezar and John was fine as I worked them on both 40 and 30 m bands. Amazing regarding the equipment they used.

So take care of your heart and do a lot of physical exercise other than operating the CW manupulator. I have purchaseed a MTB bike and I have found out that I have more muscles then I was aware of. They hurt like hell!!!!!

Take care.

Liberia 5M2TT

Received QSL card for the fine Italian operation from Liberia. Managed to work them on 4 bands ( 80, 30, 12 and 10 m bands). QSL from I2YSB arrived very fast after I made a small donation via Pay-Pal.

But there are still some request for QSL cards that I have sent $$$ and SAE but no answer so far. Some time I wonder if the DX understand and follow the recommendation from IARU regarding direkt QSL and suitable answering time.

See you on the bands!

VK9C/G6AY and LoTW confirmation for 4A4A

Received a QSL card from VK9C/G6AY yesterday in my mailbox. Cocos (Keeling) Isl OC-003 pushed my IOTA up to almost 180 confirmed (hm! lot more work needed here!). Nice card and fine performed operation by Jim G3RTE and Phil G3SWH. Worked them on 5 bands CW (40, 20, 17, 15 and 12 m bands).

I also received confirmation in LOTW from the weak but workable 4A4A (XF4 Revillagigedo) worked on 40, 30, 20, 17 and 15 m CW.

I think that every licenced ham once in his/her lifetime should work from above 60 deg North just to understand the problem we face all the time in the competition with the South of EU in the massive piles all DX stations create today.

Then all of you will understand the phrase "QRP? Life is to short!"

T30YA, T31A and letter from SM3DMP

Our World Wide Traveller, SM3DMP has been in Visalia, CA and he also went up to OR and spend a day with W7YAQ. And as the kind guy he is, he picked up some QSL cards to us that worked ZK3YA and/or T30YA.
I worked T30YA on 30 m and received this nice card confirming OC-017 Tarawa, West Kiribati.

By the way, I managed to work T31A on 18 MHz today in an enormous pile.

So take care of your heart and work with as many Watts your amps can produce!!!!!
I managed to squize out 1 KW from my TL-922 on 18 MHz plus tax!!??

FT5GA and T6YA

Some very kind person att SSA put in the same envelope as my WRTC Certificate the following QSL's: FT5GA and T6YA.
I vorked FT5GA on 6 different bands and modes. T6YA was only worked on 20 and 40 m band.
Nice cards!!

Take care. And listen to your heart!

WRTC Certificate

Arrived today from SSA. States that I have worked 50 WRTC stations. But there where only 48 working. But I worked all 48 and also got confirmation in LoTW for all 48.
But that is not a problem. I have the certificate and that is fine.

As Eric (SM1TDE) say in his blogg: "I'v done it again".

Direct QSL from Blaine, WA.

I had a long CW QSO with Frank, WB7NZI on 30 m CW. And he followed up with a direct QSL.
As we where both retired OM's and had a lot to discuss. Some topics sutch as Fly Fishing and the amount of wood I have consumed during this hard winter we have had in Sweden. It is nice with this type of contact.
We where going on until conditions was dropping to very faint sigs. Sigs in the beginning was S9+20 db. I was running just 150 W from my TS-950SDX.

Thanks Frank and I hope to meet you soon again.

Gibraltar confirmed on 28 MHz

To day I received a very nice card from ZB2FK after QSO on 3,5, 7, and 28 MHz.

I have my 5BDXCC in the system. Just have to do the application when I have the time. Then I have to visit SM5DJZ ASAP to make the application and have some QSL cards checked. And pay some money!!

CU in the piles!
