QSO with navassa + QSL from S0!

I have managed to get two (2) QSO's with K1N. And I have been Calling and Calling. My QSO's is on 30 m CW and RTTY. But for some reason my RTTY QSO has been logged in Club Log as 10 m. Well; there are some difference between 10 MHz and 10 M!!!. But I hope they will correct it in next update.

Picture of Navassa Island is borrowed from QRZ.com. Hope they don't mind.
The QRM:er is having a ball as usual. Amazing! Still wonder where these guys get the energy from. And why don't they join the pile as the rest of us? Many of them have signal levels above S9+20 db in my location and shame to say they are in an South direction from my location (most of them).

I've also got a QSL today. It was from S01WS and I have worked them on 80 and 30 m CW. Both new for me.

This adds up my Challenge Award a bit! And these hams understand "Direct". Sent request 30 January 2015 via Pay-Pal and QSL arrived today 5 February 2015!!!

OK! Back to my radio and try to Catch K1N on SSB.

K1N QRV!

Yes! They are on the air! I've Heard them but no QSO so far. There is a big difference between EU and EU (?). Yes that's right! If you live in the South compared to my location it is a different story. Like night and day. I'm at 59 deg and 54 minutes North. This is about the same as Anchorage AK! Not the same as all calls beginning with an "I". And if you have small lot and limited antennas (as I have) want make it easier. But I will keep on trying!

Received a QSL for the VU4KV operation via OQRS. Filled in some band slots. Nice card!

I also got it confirmed via LoTW. Thanks!

WX is not so good. The White fluff has been falling now for several Days. And I have about 30 cm ( 1 Feet ) and temp is around freezing. Have not seen the sun for several weeks now. Need some light!!

EP6T QRT! K1N next!?

EP6T Went QRT and I did not get a QSO on 80 and 160. They where strong on both bands (S4 - S9) but impossible with just 1 KW (QRP these Days??!!) and a single 24 m vertical antenna to get through. I tried for several Days but not a chance to get through the wall from Southern EU. Congrat's to you all that made a QSO on 80 and 160.
But I managed to get the remaining band into my log. And all confirmed in LoTW!

So this was my result with EP6T. Now I need the QSL for IOTA Award. As soon as they have opened the OQRS I will order it.
Now we are all waiting for the Navassa DXpedition to come on air. And I hope the QRM:ers will have enough rest after the big performance they put out for EP6T so they can cope with this new challenge to make sure that we all normal hams ( ? ) will have problems to get a QSO with K1N!!!!!!!

EP6T update.

Worked the Iran DXpedition  on 6 band slots. 10, 12, 15, 17, 20 and 30 m. I have been Calling on 80 and 40 m. But no QSO so far. According to Club Log it is only 5 SM so far that have worked them on 80 m. On 160 m only one ( 1 ) have made it into the log so far. Wonder if they have strong local QRM for we have a few skilled operators on 160 in SM. On 40 m 24 SM are in the log. And there are a lot of SM that have big antennas on 40. So they might have problems on 40 m as well.
I have been calling on 40 several Days on both mornings and evenings with 1 KW into my vertical antenna. But no QSO!
But I have got the attention from some of the self appointed band police! I called once ( 1 call ) when DX was Calling by numbers and he switched from "5" to "6" and all hell broke lose!!! So some one heard me but not the DX ( Hi Hi Hi Hi ).
But I will keep on Calling!

Logo borrowed from QRZ.com (hope they don't mind).

But I have a nice info! EP6T has uploaded to LoTW! So all my slots so far are confirmed. SUPER! Just need the QSL for IOTA as they are on AS-166 Kish Island.

WX in this part of SM ( 60 deg North ) is around freezing and some fluff in the air.

Iran EP6T is QRV!

Well, they are on the air as EP6T. I have worked them so far on 20 m SSB, 15 m CW and 30 m RTTY. So if I work them on some other band slots is just a bonus. But the pile's are enormous

And the QRM:ers is doing the best to keep my blood pressure at a high level!!! Wonder what will happen when K1N will come on air!!!!??? And EA5SYL Calling CQ on DX QRG. And this is a fake signal. Just for the purpose to create QRM. What an exceptional idiot.
Well back to Calling and wasting electrical Power in the pile for EP6T!

New Band Slots and New Modes.

Received the QSL card from the German DXpedition from Tarawa, Western Kiribati. They used the call T30D and I managed to work them on SSB and RTTY and CW on a few new band slots. But I still have a few to go.

Nice card!

I sent an update for my DXCC via LoTW before the end of 2014. And only after a few Days into the new year of 2015 the update was approved by ARRL.
Nice! I now have 321 confirmed. And the remaining 19 will be a hard barging to get. But there are some light in the tunnel. Hopefully K1N Navassa, TI9 Cocos Isl, 3Y0F Bouvet, Kerguelen and also the missing VP8's (South Gorgia and South Sandwich) will make it in my log the coming years. Well I will keep the hope up and my fingers crossed!!!

New Year and some QSL's received.

New year and hopefully some new DXCC will be entered into my log. Most exciting is upcoming K1N, Navassa.

Received a new band slot for Reunion Island. It was FR/OK2KG that I worked on 28 MHz. So Reunion is only missed on 160 m.

Nice card indeed.

Then I have got a bit disappointed. Worked a rare IOTA a while ago. It was XR2T from SA-086. Sent a request via OQRS and also sent some $$$ to get a direct QSL. Well nothing happened. Then yesterday I got some QSL from my QSL manager SM5DJZ and to my surprise the XR2T card was in this bundle. So why should I send $$$ to these guys and than receive the card via buro. This make me angry. So next time these guys are out on some rare IOTA or what ever, they will not receive any donation from me! No way! Buro will be fine if I bother to ask for a card.

Well, The weather is rather peculiar. At the moment I have around freezing and clear sky. All the White Fluff (called snow) has gone but on the roads it is  pure ice. So it is very slippery and you have to have studs in your tires to get some grip.

Well that's all for now. CUL.
