Challange Award

As I told you all before I have managed to achive the first step of Challange award. My score when applied was 1013 DX. I wonder how long it will take to bring me to the next level. 500 more DX to achive the 1500 medal. And I don't think I  will ever get to 3000!!?? I'm to old, I think!!

Weather here in this part of Sweden is hot! At the moment I have 12 C. And it feels like spring outside. Still no snow in sight. Picture above is from February 2011. This day it was around -20 C and about 35 cm of snow.

I have been of radio as I have been celebrating X-Mas with my daughter in the southern part of Sweden.

Hope  the mailman will bring some QSL this week.

Take care.

Old Key's

I found on a Swedish internet site for Ham radio equipment the following old Key's.

The rear one with the gray cover is the same type of key I used when I was in the Army as a CW operator. Swedish made and a very smoth key to operate.

The one with the Black Base is also a Swedish Military Key. But I have never seen any of these before. The steel plate mounting and the knob is aftermarket made. It is very nice to operate and it have a very good feeling when used. The key has a type plate that read as follows:

M3930-203020-21 (this is a military numbering in Sweden where M3930- stands for telegraph keys).
But it also have a MFR Number. F1107-109381-X. I have attempted to track thees numbers without any sucsess. So if there is someone out there that have some information about this key please let me knew.

That's all for now!

Take care!

More QSL!!!

Yesterday I received two ( 2 ) new QSL in my mail box. New reccord this month. And this pushed my IOTA score up two points. FG8AR, NA-102 and ZD8ZZ, AF-003. Tom (ZD8ZZ) was worked on 4 bands.

This morning I also worked GJ6UW on 160 m. I was running only 150 W. So this pushed my 160 m DXCC score up one point as well. But I have a lot to do on 160 m. I have an interesting problem on 160. My ADSL modem just shuts off when I tuch the key with 150 W of power. One of the reason is the proximity of telephone line to my vertical antenna. And the fact that ADSL is close in frequency to 160 m. I'm actually blocking the ADSL signal. That's life!?

Take care all of you and remember that life is to short for QRP in any way!!

Finally! A QSL was found in my mailbox today. Almost X-Mas. It was 4W6A, Timor-Leste, Atauro Isl OC-232. I had them worked on 5 bands. Nice 4 pages QSL.

The mailman (still a  woman) has not completely forgot me yet?!

My adventures on 80 m after changing the feeding net is as follows: DS4DBF, PJ5/DL7VOG, YN2CC, CN8KD, a few JA, And this morning RI1FJL on Frans Josef Land. Look's to me that it is working OK.

No winter as of today. Teperature is around 3 C. No snow in sight so far.

Take care!
