No. 1 so far!!!

This is the fastest arrival of a QSL so far. Just one (1) week and it dropped down in my mail box today. It was C31CT, Salvador from Andorra. Worked him on 80 and 17 m. Very nice card.

Well so far I have managed to work HK0NA on 7 slots. We will never knew when the next operation from Malpelo will take place so it is best to make the most of it. I have tried to work him on 80 m but so far no QSO. But I will keep on calling him.

So back to radio.

Tuesday, 24 January 2012

Worked during this weekend and Monday.

I have managed to work 4 new DXCC in just a few days! C21HA, worked on 30, 20 and 17 m band. HK0NA worked on 20 and 15 m so far. Enormous piles. And the QRM:ers have a ball!!!!
VP6T also worked on 30 m. Very week but fine operators. And finally TN2T worked on 17 m.
All of these stations will remain on the air to end of January and some of them a few weeks into February. So there will be more days to work them on some more band slots. Perhaps eaven on SSB!!!

I have a new amp in my schack. It is an ACOM 1010 running together with my TS-870S. Nice station for both DX-chasing and rag-chewing. Running silent and cold with 800 W out on CW according to my LP-100A. This amp replaces my old SB-200. I have to be careful how I load my mains supply in my old house. There are limited power to use as the main fuse is only 16 Amps. The heating system is electrical heaters and there are 5 ea using around 1 KW each. So this limits the use. But I could use an Amp using 3 phase power supply. But the cost is the limit in this case.

Well back to chasing more band slots with all the fine DX on the air. And also get angry on all of the QRM:ers that make life a little bit hard. Wonder what I would do if I got my hands on one of these QRM:er!!??

And remember that life is to short for QRP, especially if you like to work HK0NA!!

St. Martin

One more today! Received QSL from Gregg, FS/W6IZT. I worked him on a few bands. Very nice card. I would like to change to his QTH far away from the ice and snow!!?? Keep on dreaming!!!!!

Nice, isn't it?

Any way I have changed my keying of my Linear Amp from my FT-1000 to silent non-relay keying. It is so silent. You just see the power rise and no "clicks" at all.

Worked a lot of nice stns this morning. PJ4C on 80 m. 9M2MRS and 9K2/SP4R on 12 m, VK2DX and ZL1ALZ on 20 m and finally T88WW on 30 m. Then it was time for coffie.

Take care all of you out there!

QSL from TU2T

Yesterday the QSL from the Italian DXpedition arrived. I managed to work TU2T on all band slots on CW and one slot (17 m) on the very rare mode of SSB! Nice QSL and and quick delivery from I2YSB, Silvano. Thanks for a well performed operation from Ivory Coast.

The winter is coming!? At the moment we have about 0 deg C and light snow. And there are some predictions about more snow tonight. Well, we have to vait and see!?

Off Line for a few days

I have been off line for a few days. Reason was that I had to return my daughter's dog, Balder to his home in the southern part of Sweden. 600 km from my home.
But when I returned after a few day's away I found the beateful QSL card from FG8NY in my mailbox.
Worked him on 80 m on the 6 of Dec 2011 (he also knew the meaning of the word "Direct").

I can also tell you all that winter is back. At the moment the wind is blowing with an average wind of aprox 18 to 30 kn and more in gusts and lots of snow in the air. Temperature is just around 0 C, All antennas are still in the air and I hope they stay there!

Take Care all of you until next time.

WOW! Now they start coming in pairs!!

Yesterday I found the following QSL in the Mail Box. End of last year no QSL but now they start comming in clusters!!??

Or what about TY1KS, Benin and 7Q7GM, Malawi! Worked both stations on several bandslots including CW and also the very rare mode of SSB! Looks nice!!

Well, still a very mild Winter so far. Temp outside is around -5 C and only about half inch of snow. I'm saving a lot of money on my electrical bill compared with last year when temp was in the neighbourhood of -25 to 30 this time of the year.

CUL all of you out there!

Fine start of 2012!

This is a fine start of the new year. In the mailbox today I found a card from the team of YT1AD. It was the operation from Rotuma OC-060 with the call of 3D2R. I managed to work them on 5 slots including 80 m.

This adds up my IOTA score to 205 islands. So there are much to do here.
The adventure on 80 m continues. This morning I worked K3N, KG2A/VP9 and HC2/AL1O. My new feeding system works just fine.

Now I have to walk my daughters dog. He is standing in front of the door with his legs crossed!!

CUL!
