New IOTA confirmed

Hawar Island AS-202 was announced as a new IOTA in July 2014. In April 2016 the first activation happened with a team from Russia, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Ireland and UK. They used the call A91HI and made over 23000 QSO's. Well done indeed!!!

So my IOTA score is now up to 444 Islands!!

Swedish summer has started. Rain, rain and some TS and some more rain!!?? Temp outside is about 8 C (46 F) and inside 18C (64 F). I have turned off all heaters as it should be summer and heater is not needed in theory. But in reality I have to put on a fire in my fireplace to get some comfort inside. I have a lot of fire wood so no big deal!

Well back to chasing new (for moi) IOTA's.

Today I got a new IOTA from David, BA4DW when he worked AS-094 Hainan Isl. Thanks David and my IOTA score is now the fantastic (!) sum of 443 Islands. Wonder when I will reach the magic number of 555 so I will be in the fine list!!??
Anyway here are the QSL from David.

Next Picture is a map from Vlad's 2015 Arctic Tour on the Icebreaker MSV Mikhail Somov. But I will only show you all the mid part as the QSL is to big for my scanner. But enjoy this part.

The QSL from the IOTA's I worked was shown in the privies issue of this blog. But if you worked him from the Icebreaker as RI0POL you can get this nice card for your self from Vlad.

5 New IOTA QSL in my hand!

Today I've got 5 new IOTA. First out is VK6NAX/P from OC-164, Garden Isl.

And Pavel understand the Word "direct". QSO was 30_Apr-2016!! SUPER!

Next 4 is from Vladimir Bykov and his trip in the Arctic. Unfortunately I missed a few of the Islands but this is what I worked.

Very nice cards and the worked Island was as follows:
AS-042, Golomyannyy Island. AS-029, Bolshoy Island. AS-005, Dickson Island and finally AS-027, Wrangel Island.

New DXCC confirmed by ARRL.

Read on DX-World that 5A1AL operations was approved by ARRL. As I had my QSO rejected in an application to ARRL in 2014. I sent an e-mail to DXCC Admin with a request to get Libya confirmed. And within 2 day's  my DXCC record was up one Point. Super thanks to Sharon at ARRL for Swift correction and answer.

I have a lot of spruce trees (fir tree) on my property. And now they are in full bloom.

 



 

All my spruce trees are reddish with these tiny small flowers. Nice!

 

Next Picture capture an insect eating from a yellow flower. So summer is here for sure.

 

 

Not much related to ham radio but nice to show something else now and then. Have cut my lawn for the first time this year.

Yeah!!! Two new IOTA!

Yes! They have arrived! Today I've got the QSL from AN-007 and AN-009. It was from VP8STI from South Sandwich Islands and VP8SGI from South Georgia Island. Lots of Penguin's. Nice cards.

I have already got them confirmed on LoTW and now they are entered into IOTA. So my IOTA score is at present 437 islands. Lot's to do here.

SSB and RTTY confirmed from Cocos Keeling.

I missed RTTY and SSB from Cocos Keeling. But in March some LA hams operated as VK9CK. And I managed to get QSO on SSB and RTTY. So thanks to Dipper DX.

They also confirmed by uploading to LoTW. QSL was from LA6OP, Sindre.

The next Picture is from my garden. How come that just one blue flower in the hundred of Wood Anemone?

QSL from UA1QV.

Today I received QSL from UA1QV. First was D3AA from Angola. Worked him on 30 and 20 m CW. Nice card!

Next QSL was from UA1QV and RW3FS operation from Kolguuev Isl, EU-085 with the call RI1PA. This IOTA was new for me and pushed my score up one Point. Thanks Mikhail!

Today I have replaced oil and oil filter on my Suzuki DL-1000. All fine and I made a test run for about 35 Km. Nice!

Weather is fine in this pare of Sweden. temp is Close to 18 C (64 F) and sun is shining from a clear blue sky. Summer? Well not yet but it is on it's way!!
