New IOTA worked!

Worked two new IOTA in the last Days. First out was KT3Q/5 from NA-143. And this morning I worked K6VVA/KL7 from NA-050. So my IOTA score is improving every day.

Today I also got a new QSL from Ethiopa. It was ET3BN that I worked on 30 m CW. And also a new band slot for the Challenge Award.

The weatherman has predicted some TS today. I Think I had have enough of these events for a few years ahead in my opinion. But you can't control mother nature!!

Wonder where my QSL from TX5K are.

Well that's all for now!  CUL!

Yesterday was very exiting!

Yesterday afternoon was a Little bit to exiting. There was a single thunderstorm cell just beside my House. Then just suddenly a flash and within 0,5 second thunder. That is Close. I was looking for eventually any forest fire when next happened.
I Heard a Sharp "Crack" from my lighting arrestor at my 160/80 m GP, And within a fraction of a second flash and thunder. And it was so loud that I momentarily lost hearing. And then after about 5 second the same happened again. And after 8 more seconds a third event with flash and thunder at the same time. Puh! If you have heard a 15 cm Haubits go off then you are Close to the sound I expired 3 times within 13 seconds. All the damaged I found was one of my potable phones that was now in orbit. I had to sweep up the pieces from the floor. But all of my gear and antennas was OK!!! Might have to by a lottery ticket.

Now for some more pleasant things. Got the following QSL via buro. First out was H40FN from Temotu.

Second was from Guinea.Bissau J5NAR.

So you can get rare ones via buro as well as direct.

PLS no More Close in Thunder.

No QSL this week so far.

The mail man has not been kind to me this week. No QSL at all so far. Waiting for TX5K. Hope it will arrive soon. Have sent an application to ARRL for my achievement  to reach 1500 DX to my Challenge Award. Next level is 2000. Wonder when that level will be reached.

ACOM Rules or............?

Well, I have to show you the mess around my antenna switch.

It is a home made unit that can handle 6 Transceiver's and 6 Antennas. It is controlled by an Array Solutions SixPack switch with new labelling. It works just fine. You can click on the Pictures to see them in large size.

Not so much worked on the bands. Most of the worked stns are timing up for the IOTA Contest. The following has been put into my log: KT3Q/6, BY4IB/4, DS4DRE/4, HH5/KC0W just to show you a few worked. I will participate in the upcoming IOTA Contest and pick up some islands I'm missing in my IOTA score.

Been off for a while.

After my return from DE land I went back to the city of Varberg in the South West of our Beautiful Country. Reason was that my daughter was to baptize her new born baby boy in the Church of Varberg. So I had to pack my bags and camera and just go. It was a nice ceremony with lot of good food after in their home. I was down there for Three Days. So I will show you a Picture of the event.

Here are a picture of the priest Rebecca and the boy Ludvig. A rather happy fellow. Rebecca was showing all the new member of the Church.

Back home I had to re-arrange the 50 MHz station due to my friend sold the Linear Amp Elecraft KPA500 ( it was his so no hard feelings) that I have been using on 50. Now it looks like this!

Well regarding Power, the ACOM 1000 puts out little more juice than the KPA500.
The Drake line in the back is retired but fully functional with lot of Sherwood Engineering mods.

Well, I will try to be more active on my blogg.
Sorry for this long delay.

New IOTA and a few new Samoa Band Slots.

Today I received a new IOTA again! It was AF-072, Bazaruto Isl outside Mocambique. Call was C98RF and it was worked on 28 MHz Band.

Operator where DL6DQW and WH7B. The IOTA score is improving day by day!!??

Next one was not a new one at all. But it gave me 7 new band slots. This is 5W0M worked on CW, SSB and RTTY and some different bands. I'm only missing 5W on 160 m. And that might be a challenge in it self.

As you can see it is actually two QSL from the German Team. QSL was via DL4SVA, Georg.

Have been cutting the lawn for my nabor. He has about 3000 Square meters of the green stuff. But now I'm done. And it is very warm today. Temp at tthe moment is around 25 C. It is only 4 Mouths since we had Minus 25 C!!!. I was complaining about that and now about the heat?? When will I be satisfied???

Take care all of you readers. CUL

A rare never before activated IOTA confirmed.

Yesterday I received the QSL from the rare IOTA AF-109, Nelson's Island. Call was SU8N and the crew with leader SU1SK, Said made a very good operation so some of us could get a new one. Thanks! Very nice card printed by Tony, LZ1JZ.

My IOTA score is approving fast. But the goal of 700 is still far, far away!!

Wx here in Sweden is at the moment just fine. No wind and sun is shining from a blue sky and temp is around 20 C (68 F). K-index is rather high and aurora is present despite not visible due to Bright Skye's. But it is there.

To day I will take a trip on one of my motor bikes.

take care all of you readers and CUL.

No activity for a long time!

Reason for the non activity is that I have acting as a house and dog Watch for my daughter during midsummer. And after that I Went to Germany. To the birthplace of the famous Zeppelin Airship's. That is the Town of Friedrichshafen and the Ham radio exhibition. During my walk around I found the following kit.

Do you wonder what it is? Well it is a Kent double paddle. I tested a few they had at the fair. And they was fine to use. So I decided to incorporate one into my Collection of paddles.

And after a few minutes it looked like this!

I had a lot of nice things in the mail after being away for 17 Days. One example is the 12 m sticker to my 5BDXCC Award ( actually now a 8BDXCC. I'm missing 160 m (10 to go) and 6 m ( I'm missing a lot on 6 m).. And there are a few IOTA QSL's as well in the box. But I will show you them later.

So, I'm back! CUL
